Paul Laughlin, founder of Laughlin Consultancy, recently led a breakfast briefing – hosted by MyCustomer and Royal Mail Data Services (RMDS).

This event, attended by leading marketers and CX professionals across UK business sectors, focussed on GDPR. Under the title, ?The GDPR and its implications on the use of?customer data?, Paul summarised key aspects & where to start. A generous breakfast was provided within the drawing room at Fortnum & Mason.

Paul?s keynote presentation included information on:

  • Results of annual survey of UK marketers, their goals, challenges & use of data;
  • The challenges of GDPR, including Article 5 on data quality;
  • Implications for marketing and the case for needing third-party data to improve quality;
  • How to respond positively to GDPR, including tips on communication.

We are delighted that our breakfast guests found the information so useful. Feedback was unanimously positive, with praise for the time that Paul gave to answering specific questions from guests. This keynote was followed by useful roundtable conversations, facilitated by Paul & William Buist. Finally, guests were treated to a sneak preview of a new product in development from RMDS.

A full summary of this talk is available on our ?Customer Insight Leader? blog site. It was a real pleasure to work with MyCustomer and RMDS and we look forward to collaborating in future. Continuing our work to help marketers prepare for and respond positively to GDPR.
